The Mia Dress

My latest dress is from the pattern that I bought from Liberty Jane patterns. It is the Mia dress from Bonjour Teaspoon. I used a fushia soft t-shirt knit for the bodice. And 3 different coordinating cotton fabrics for the skirt. The top part of the skirt is done in a multi-colored chevron pattern on a brown background. The middle of the skirt is an olive green paisley pattern. And the bottom is done out of a brown circle print. I love the bright colors in this dress. It compliments Saige so well. It will be listed on my Etsy shop soon. So be on the lookout for it.

Time to Make the Donuts!

I just finished my latest outfit. It is a 3 piece baker's outfit. It has a bibbed apron that is made out of a donut cotton print, a chef's hat, and an oven mitt. In this outfit, your American Girl Doll or other 18 inch doll can run her own bakery or donut shop! And as always it will be listed in my Etsy shop!

T-Shirts and Summer Tops

I've made several t-shirts lately. I just love the Trendy T-Shirt pattern by Liberty Jane. It's even easier now that I have my serger. I can whip one up in about 10 min. or less. I'm hoping to get several of these made for when I do my craft show in December. I also ordered a cute pair of sandals for Emily's doll. I got them on Etsy from Stout Creations. I also made a couple of bandeau tops out of a piece of red, white and blue stars print. I just can't believe that it is the middle of July already! I'm going to have to start thinking about fall soon.

Sleepover

Saige and Madyson decided that they wanted to have a sleepover. They just got new beds! No more sleeping in their cases! So they got their jammies on, started telling stories until it was midnight! Then they finally got to bed in their new bunk beds. Madyson just had to have the top bunk. I made their beds from a tutorial that I found from My Froggy Stuff. In the tutorial, it tells how you can take a Closetmaid 24" stackable shelving unit and make into a bed. And if you get two of them you can make bunk beds. It's a pretty inexpensive way to make beds for your American Girl doll or other 18 inch doll. I spent about $10.50 on one shelf that I bought from Target. I still have to make some bedding for them. But for now they have mattresses made of a towel in a pillowcase and a blanket. I will post picture of the bedding that I make for them. And eventually, I will have some bedding for sale on my Etsy shop.

They are both out for the night. Sweet dreams!

McCall's Patterns

I got three great McCall's patterns that were on sale today at Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is having a sale this week on all of their McCall's patterns. It's a great time to get that pattern that you always wanted but didn't want to spend $17.95 to get it. That's crazy! Patterns are so rediculously high! So I always wait until they go on sale to get them.

I got three patterns for $3.22. I think that the little cowgirl pattern would be cute or even the costumes for Halloween.

Perfect Dress for Saige

I have been sewing like crazy lately! I've been trying to get what I've had cut out sewn before I go and buy more material. The last dress that I made today was a dress that I've made before in the same material. It is made from the Salina pattern from Liberty Jane. I used a very bright pink floral cotton material that has yellow, blue and pink in it. And when I finished it, I thought that it would make the perfect dress for Saige. Because with her complection and haircolor, the bright colors are perfect for her. So just remember that this dress is for sale over at my Etsy Shop . And right now for a limited time, you can use this coupon code: xmasjuly3 and get $5.00 off when you spend $25 or more. So this would be a good opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping for that sweet little girl in your life.

Isn't this the perfect dress for her?

She looks absolutely radiant!

An Unexpected Package

Today an unexpected package arrived at our house! It was Saige! My daughter was so surprised! I was a little surprised too because we really didn't expect her to arrive until Monday. But she's here now. And she's prettier than I expected. We also got accessories for her a purse, earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, and a ring. The bracelet was hard to get on. I think that I am going to make the pink sparkly dress for her as a surprise. She said that she would like that.

What could be in this box?

It's Saige!

A very happy girl!

Shhhhhh... It's a Surprise!

My daughter's birthday is coming up and I thought that I would make her an outfit for her doll. She always loves all of the things that I make for my Etsy shop and wishes that she could have one just like it. Well this time I decided that I would give her the flannel pj and robe outfit. She already knows about one of her presents. It's a big one. She's going to get the girl of the year doll Saige. But she doesn't know about this. She probably thinks that it will be for sale on my Etsy site. I think that she will just love this and it will be a wonderful surprise!

Doll Play

I went to our Walmart here in town today and I found some great things for my daughter's American Girl doll. I also found a few things at the Dollar Tree. So when I got home, we decided to have some fun with her dolls.
Here is Madyson taking Jenny's order. Notice the cute vase and flowers that I got at Walmart?

Jenny decided that she wanted pizza. That's an really big pizza! Are you sure you can eat all that?

Now it is Madyson's turn to order. Hmmm.. What will she get?

I think that she's in the mood for a big juicy cheeseburger!
Now that they are done eating, the girls take a break to get ready for school next year.
I found these cute little mini composition books at the Dollar Tree. They were in a pack of 3. And also this pencil holder that doubles as a waistbasket.
Jenny came over to tell  her that we will be having a visitor coming soon. And to welcome her, Jenny picked up this cute little portfolio for Saige at the Dollar Tree! It is actually a gift card holder but I thought that it would be perfect to hold Saige's paintings.

DIY Table

I'll be glad when this place gets some proper seating!
Today I decided to make Emily a table for her AG dolls. We've been working on making her a restaurant and she needed a table. I took an old box and I cut the ends off. Then cut the sides in half for the legs. I added some extra cardboard underneath and then I taped it to the legs. I then took some Contact paper that I had around and I covered it. The next thing that I'm going to make for her are some seats.

Madyson says I'm waiting for my food! Where is it?

I'm still waiting for my food!

Texas Rangers Applique

I made something today that I was not quite sure that it would work but I wanted to try it anyway. I wanted to put an applique of the Texas Rangers on a baseball t-shirt for an American Girl doll. I got the pattern from Libertyjanepatterns.com . So I found an image of the Texas Rangers' letter T and I drew it free handed. I used graphing paper so that I would get the sizing right for the shirt. Then I took some Heat n Bond and I bonded it to the wrong side of a piece of blue floral material. That is the material that I used to make the cowgirl dress that I have on sale at Etsy . Then once the fabric was bonded real good to the material, I cut the T pattern out and peeled off the paper backing. Now I have an iron on applique! I took the applique and I ironed it onto my t-shirt front piece. After I did that, I used some red puffy paint and I outlined it. Now all I have to do is to let it dry. I will start making the t-shirt tomorrow so that I will be sure that it is dry. The sleeves and neck band of the shirt will be red and the t-shirt part will be white with the applique in the middle.
